Finally, each year comes to a close with the town’s annual Tree Lighting and Light Parade. During this exciting event, the town’s fire trucks coast through the streets decked out in holiday lights, and the town’s Christmas tree is lit once the parade reaches its end.

4. McGrath Pond and Parks

In order for a town to really be considered a good place to move, it needs to have some beautiful parks where residents can enjoy the outdoors year round. In Prospect, Connecticut, one of the most popular parks is McGrath pond. At this pond, locals are constantly relaxing in sporting chairs, standing with a fish rod, or picnicking at the nearby picnic tables.
